Meet Alan! (Own It Series)
Alan started working with Northern Virginia Roofing back in 2007 and he has been working as the project manager for the Department Of Defense & government projects.
Alan is a family man and a straight shooter! He’s well liked and respected by our customers as well as the crews he works with.
On February 11th 2017 Alan was supervising a full metal roof replacement project at Fort Belvoir (United States Army installation).
One of the crew members on the crew was going around the building carrying metal roof panels on a telescopic boom forklift.
(Picture of the fork lift)
A big wind gust came up and flipped the roof panels off the forklift, dropping them over a fence onto the truck of a parked vehicle.
This was extremely unfortunate and to make matters worse, we learned the car belonged to a US Army Solider who was deployed overseas. Alan immediately took precautionary measures by covering the car to avoid any further damage. He also notified base officials of the accident, took responsibility and assured them that we would “own” this mistake and take whatever steps were necessary to remedy the situation.
Doing The Right Thing!
The soldier returned home a little over a week ago from his deployment. Alan took the car to the collision shop to get an estimate and then tried renting a car for him, but the rental agency didn’t have any cars available at that particular time. To avoid having to drag the soldier to another car rental facility he authorized an upgrade to a 2017 Dodge Ram pickup truck.
The collision shop did a fantastic job- the car looks like nothing happened to it and Alan got a thumbs up from Mr. B.:
Alan, thank you for doing the right thing! 👍
Thank you, Mr. B. for serving our country!
