John Francis, CEO

John Francis is the CEO of Northern VA Roofing. Born and raised in Falls Church, VA, John understands the unique needs of this market. He graduated from O’Connell High School and is married with 3 children. Considered an expert in roofing; John is frequently asked to speak at symposiums on topics such as green roofing, crew training, construction ethics to name a few. John is also published or featured in several periodicals such as Fortune Magazine, Professional Roofing Magazine, Architectual Products Magazine, The Washington Business Journal, just to name a few. My proudest moment was when we organized the roof replacement at the Pentagon for free, after the 911 attack! I believe that it is imperative that businesses give back to the community. For this reason, we sponsor several local children’s sports teams as well as Habitat for Humanity and lots of other local charities and schools.

Deryl Middleton, General Manager

Deryl Middleton is the General Manager of NV Roofing. Deryl has been in the Roofing Business for 14 years and manages all aspect of the company. Her goal is to provide quality service to all her customers. She graduated from West Texas State University with a teaching degree and taught kindergarten and first grade for 13 years. Deryl is married with 2 children and 2 beautiful granddaughters.

Paul R. Dow, VP Commercial Services

Paul is responsible for all aspects of the company’s commercial division. In this role Paul is primarily focused on new business development, sales and existing client relationship management. Paul has been with Northern Virginia Roofing since 2006 in which time the Commercial Division has experienced 50% annual growth. Paul has extensive construction/sales and logistics experience and prior to joining NV Roofing spent 12 years as a Director of Account Management for the nation’s largest Home Inspection Firm. He was responsible for the service delivery provided to his clients by an national network of over 6000 inspectors and the management of a client service team handling in excess of 15 million dollars of inspection related revenue.

Kathleen M. Johnson, Director of Operations Commercial Services

Kathy joined the Northern Virginia Roofing team in September of 2008 when her husband was transferred to the Washington Metro area. Kathy brought with her 8 years of construction management experience from the Building Supply, Custom Building and Roofing industries. Serving as Northern Virginia Roofing’s Production Manager, Kathy was responsible for all aspects of project management from crew scheduling through job completion. In her most current role of Director of Operations, Commercial Services, Kathy is directly responsible for all service delivery activities related to the Commercial Services Team. This includes production of all repair and replacement projects, scheduling and fielding of all service and maintenance work and directing the service delivery team tasked with servicing our clients.

Robert Livingston, Sales Manager

Rob Livingston started with Northern Virginia Roofing in 2004 after serving in the United States Marine Corps. Rob has performed roof repairs, served as a Quality Control Supervisor, and Salesman before becoming our Sales Manager for the Residential division. His experience covers both residential and commercial projects. With his extensive technical knowledge and attention to detail, Rob oversees the sales department and all daily sales operations.

Jose Mejia, Residential Production Manager

Jose Mejia is the residential Production Manager. He was born in Spain and raised in El Salvador until 1980 when moving to the United States. He has been working in the construction field since 1987. After getting into the construction industry, Jose decided to go to school and received his degree in business and architectural design to get his feet wet and graduated in 1995 from George Mason University. He was self-employed before coming to Northern Virginia Roofing in December of 2011, running his own construction business. Jose has a beautiful family consisting of his wife and two children that we are excited to include in our family here at Northern Virginia Roofing.

Terry Alt, Commercial Bookkeeper

Terry Alt, our Commercial Bookkeeper, is from Cumberland, Maryland and has been with the company since 2010. We have Alderson-Broaddus College to thank for her skills as she received degrees in Accounting and Business Administration in 1984. Shortly after receiving her degrees she started her career as a Bookkeeper at Dale Lumber Company, where she worked for 18 years. Before coming back into the construction industry at Northern Virginia Roofing, she worked as a Dance Studio Manager where two of her daughters danced for 10 years. Terry has a loving husband, three daughters and a grandson she holds close to her heart and enjoys spending time with them.
